Airport Safety Program

Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is committed to providing a safe working and operating environment for all employees, tenants and passengers. To uphold this commitment, the Norfolk Airport Authority has developed and actively maintains a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS), dedicating the necessary time, personnel and resources to meet established industry safety standards. A critical component of our SMS is the active involvement of everyone working at ORF. We rely on you to help identify hazards and continuously improve safety practices at all levels.

Report a Hazard

All employees, tenants and contractors are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions, accidents, incidents or unsafe actions. If hazards are not reported, they cannot be addressed or corrected. A hazard is anything with the potential to cause injury, damage or disruption of normal operations.

Anonymous Reporting

You can report a hazard anonymously by phone, email or through the SMS Reporting Portal. However, if you choose to provide your contact information, the SMS Team can follow up with additional questions and if requested, provide feedback or updates on the reported hazard.
