Check in starts at 4 p.m.
Event concludes at 7 p.m.
Let’s Fly is ORF’s annual practice boarding experience designed to help individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism and their caregivers become more comfortable with the airport and air travel.
Participants will have the opportunity to experience the passenger journey in a supportive, welcoming environment.
What to Expect
Participants will experience key steps of the airport journey, including:
- Check-In: Receive a boarding pass and get familiar with the check-in process.
- Security: Practice going through the TSA security checkpoint.
- Boarding: Spend time in the boarding area before boarding an aircraft.
- Takeoff Preparation: Board an aircraft and experience the sights and sounds of being on board.
- Taxi: The aircraft will taxi on the airport surface—but will not take off.
Participation Details
Let’s Fly is designed for individuals with autism and other intellectual or developmental disabilities, along with their families, caregivers and support networks.
Participation is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to registered participants. Each participant may bring up to three (3) caregivers or family members to accompany them throughout the event. However, only one support person will be permitted to board the aircraft with the participant.
